A1 BrickBoard
Main features
A1 Brickboard (formerly known as "BrickShield") is an A1 fire-rated brick slip system based on a modified fibre cement brick slip carrier board with channels pre-cut for the brick slips. This unique system provides the simplest and most cost-effective solution for wherever an A1 fire-rated brick slip facade is required. The A1 BrickBoard brick slip carrier boards can be installed to almost any solid substrate and then essentially “tiled” with brick slips for a completely uniform finish, saving time and space on site.
For the offsite and modular construction sector, BrickBoard can be installed in-factory along with the brick slips, allowing for vastly reduced finishing times on-site.
By using A1 fire-rated components throughout the system, the A1 BrickBoard brick slip system contains no combustible elements or any elements that contribute to the ignition or propagation of fire, making it suitable for use on buildings above 18m subject to appropriate approvals.

Installation
The A1 BrickBoard brick slip backing boards can be fixed directly to steel or timber centres (battens) creating a drained and ventilated cavity with appropriate fixings at 400mm centres. Hardened tipped screws can be driven through the boards directly into the centres.
For installations in conjunction with insulation (typically mineral wool for an A1 fire-rated system), the BrickBoard brick slip system can be installed using a helping hand system to create a rainscreen with a ventilated, drained cavity.
